I have been helping individuals in various roles since 1995 and became a licensed counselor in 2004. Over time, I’ve learned that people often have more strength and insight than they realize. You already have what it takes to create meaningful change—I’m here to help you move forward. I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor and Supervising Counselor in Ohio, as well as a National Certified Counselor (NCC), Certified Rehabilitation Counselor (CRC), and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in Arizona. I have experience working with anxiety, depression, chronic illness, disabilities, caregivers, survivors of domestic violence, relationship concerns, and individuals in crisis. I believe that challenges can be worked through in ways that lead to growth and resilience. I work with individuals, couples, and families to help create more fulfilling lives. My goal is to help you identify what you’d like to change—even if it’s just one small step, because even one change can make a meaningful difference. My style is supportive, compassionate, and collaborative, while also offering honest, direct feedback when it’s helpful to move through obstacles and create progress.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, I’ll start by welcoming you and recognizing the courage it takes to begin therapy. We’ll talk briefly about confidentiality so you know what to expect and can feel comfortable opening up. I’ll invite you to share what’s been going on and what led you to seek support at this time. My focus is on truly listening and understanding your experience, while creating a space where you feel safe, supported, and not judged. At the end of the session, we’ll check in about how it felt for you and whether you’d like to continue working together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

As a counselor, I value authenticity and strive to show up as my genuine self. Many clients find this openness refreshing and grounding in the therapeutic process. I listen carefully and without judgment so you feel heard, understood, and accepted. I also believe in honest, respectful communication. At times, I may gently and directly challenge you to step outside your comfort zone and try new approaches, while ensuring you feel supported throughout the process. When things don’t go as planned, we reflect, adjust, and continue forward. I believe meaningful change takes time, and growth often comes from the willingness to keep trying.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are adults who are ready to make meaningful changes in their lives but may need support in identifying how to begin. They are open to exploring their strengths and learning how to apply them in practical ways. I work collaboratively with clients, walking alongside them as they develop new coping skills, reflect on past patterns, and discover healthier ways of thinking and being. This process supports movement toward a more fulfilling and productive future. I welcome adult clients of all ages who are motivated to set and work toward clear therapeutic goals.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use the strength-based approach to help people learn they already have in them what it takes to feel better. We just have to find it. Everyone has internal strengths and resources, and we need to learn how to focus on the internal strengths, rather than focusing on weaknesses (such as by overthinking, anxiety, etc). By doing this, we can learn to improve confidence, self-efficacy, and achieve greater success.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

I use a Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) approach to help clients identify clear goals and take practical steps toward meaningful change. This method is forward-looking and emphasizes what is already working, building on strengths and past successes to create momentum. My style is supportive, direct, and no-nonsense. I help clients focus on solutions rather than staying stuck in the problem, while also providing encouragement and honest feedback along the way. Together, we work to create realistic, achievable steps that move you toward the life you want in a focused and efficient way.

Strength-Based

I use a strength-based approach to help clients recognize the internal resources and resilience they already possess. Together, we focus on identifying and building upon these strengths rather than becoming stuck in patterns of overthinking, anxiety, or self-criticism. By shifting attention in this way, clients often experience increased confidence, improved self-efficacy, and greater overall success in their goals.
