I believe healing begins in a space where you feel safe, understood, and accepted without judgment. My approach is deeply trauma-informed, recognizing that many of the ways we cope today developed as adaptive responses to difficult experiences. Whether you're navigating the effects of trauma, anxiety, eating disorders, relationship challenges, or life transitions, I strive to create a therapeutic relationship where you feel genuinely seen and supported. I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), I tailor treatment to your unique experiences, strengths, and goals. I help people get in their bodies and use somatic work as well. I have worked for 20 yrs with eating disorders and body image. I believe healing is not about becoming someone different—it's about reconnecting with your authentic self, cultivating self-compassion, and building a life that feels grounded, meaningful, and aligned with your values. My role is to walk alongside you, honoring your pace while helping you develop the insight, skills, and confidence to create lasting change.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another. I'll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, your personal history, and what you hope to gain from our work together. This conversation helps me better understand your experiences, strengths, and the challenges you're facing. There is no pressure to share everything right away—we'll move at a pace that feels comfortable and safe for you. We'll also talk about how I approach therapy, answer any questions you may have, and discuss what treatment might look like based on your unique needs and goals. If you're seeking support for trauma or an eating disorder, we'll begin exploring how these experiences have impacted your life while prioritizing safety, stabilization, and building trust before moving into deeper processing. By the end of our first session, you'll have a clearer understanding of the therapeutic process, and together we'll begin creating a plan that feels collaborative, personalized, and aligned with your goals. My hope is that you leave feeling heard, supported, and confident that you don't have to navigate this journey alone

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

What sets my approach apart is my commitment to treating the whole person—not just the symptoms. I believe that lasting healing comes from understanding the experiences, relationships, and protective patterns that have shaped your life, rather than simply trying to change behaviors. My work is grounded in a trauma-informed perspective and integrates evidence-based approaches including Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). This combination allows us to process the root causes of distress, strengthen practical coping skills, and foster greater self-awareness and self-compassion. I also specialize in treating eating disorders through a compassionate, nonjudgmental lens that recognizes these struggles often serve an important purpose rather than existing in isolation. Together, we'll explore the underlying emotional, relational, and trauma-related factors that contribute to your relationship with food, your body, and yourself. Throughout our work, I prioritize creating a therapeutic relationship built on trust, authenticity, and collaboration. Rather than following a one-size-fits-all model, I tailor each session to your unique needs, helping you move beyond surviving toward a life that feels more connected, balanced, and aligned with your values.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to better understand themselves and create meaningful, lasting change. They may feel stuck in patterns that no longer serve them, overwhelmed by anxiety or difficult emotions, carrying the effects of trauma, or struggling with an eating disorder or a complicated relationship with food and their body. Many have spent years trying to hold everything together on the outside while feeling exhausted, disconnected, or overwhelmed on the inside. My clients are often insightful, compassionate, and resilient, yet they may struggle to extend that same compassion to themselves. They are looking for more than temporary coping strategies—they want to heal the underlying wounds that continue to impact their relationships, self-worth, and daily lives. Whether they're navigating the effects of childhood experiences, life transitions, perfectionism, or emotional dysregulation, they're seeking a therapist who offers both evidence-based treatment and genuine human connection.

My treatment methods

EMDR

I use Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to help clients process distressing memories and experiences that may continue to affect how they think, feel, and respond in the present. Rather than requiring you to repeatedly retell every detail of your trauma, EMDR helps your brain reprocess experiences that may feel "stuck," allowing them to become less emotionally overwhelming over time. EMDR is always integrated into treatment thoughtfully and at a pace that feels safe. Before beginning trauma processing, we focus on building trust, strengthening coping skills, and developing emotional regulation strategies so you feel prepared and supported throughout the process. I often combine EMDR with Internal Family Systems (IFS) to explore and understand the protective parts of yourself that developed in response to difficult experiences, as well as Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills to help you manage intense emotions and navigate life's challenges between sessions. My goal is not simply to reduce symptoms, but to help you heal at the root level. Through this integrative approach, many clients experience decreased emotional distress, greater self-compassion, healthier relationships, and a stronger sense of confidence and connection to themselves.

Internal Family Systems (IFS)

I use Internal Family Systems (IFS) to help clients better understand and build a compassionate relationship with the different "parts" of themselves. We all have parts that serve important roles—some may strive for perfection, others may people-please, avoid difficult emotions, or become highly self-critical. These parts often develop as protective responses to challenging life experiences and are trying to help, even when their strategies no longer serve us. Rather than judging or trying to eliminate these parts, IFS helps us approach them with curiosity, compassion, and respect. Together, we'll explore the roles these parts play, understand what they need, and work toward healing the underlying wounds they have been protecting. As this process unfolds, clients often experience greater self-awareness, emotional balance, and a stronger connection to their authentic Self—a place of calm, confidence, clarity, and compassion. I frequently integrate IFS with EMDR and DBT to create a comprehensive, trauma-informed approach to healing. While IFS helps us understand your internal world and foster self-compassion, EMDR supports the reprocessing of painful memories, and DBT provides practical skills for managing emotions, improving relationships, and coping with life's challenges. Together, these approaches promote healing that is both deep and sustainable.

Somatic

I incorporate somatic therapy to help clients reconnect with the wisdom of their bodies and recognize how stress, trauma, and difficult emotions can become stored in the nervous system. Trauma is not only held in our memories—it can also show up physically through tension, chronic stress, feeling disconnected from your body, or being stuck in patterns of fight, flight, freeze, or shutdown. By bringing gentle awareness to physical sensations, we can begin to understand what your body is communicating and support your nervous system in moving toward greater regulation and safety. Somatic therapy does not require you to relive painful experiences. Instead, we'll work at a pace that feels comfortable, using techniques such as grounding, breath awareness, mindfulness, movement, and nervous system regulation to help you feel more present and connected. I often integrate somatic practices with EMDR, Internal Family Systems (IFS), and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), creating a holistic approach that addresses both the emotional and physical impact of trauma. This integration can be especially helpful for clients experiencing anxiety, trauma, eating disorders, or chronic stress, allowing healing to occur through both the mind and the body.
