We do not need to struggle any longer against our old conditioned patterns... we must only recognize them for what they are. Hello! My name Is Natalie Knight and I am an LCSW who is passionate about utilizing the strength of the therapeutic alliance as a support to enter into an exploration of what is beckoning for our attention at any given moment. I believe once we learn how to meet our emotions that we can clear ourselves of old past traumas or new ones. Together I begin to assist the client with untangling the knots of beliefs that have held them back from truly knowing the peace and contentment that underlying all of our distrations is what we all so badly long for. I have been doing this work for the past eight years professionally. I use a person-centered approach in my counseling practice which emphasizes that the client is the best authority for his/her own life and that the answers to his/her questions are inside of them. I serve as a mirror to reflect to the client the inherent wisdom that we uncover during our therapy sessions. I also rely strongly on EMDR as a modality to help client with the root of their trauma. This process has been quite effective for me in my search for understanding and I hope to be able to share it with others who feel called to this type of work with me as well.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

I believe therapy is a place for self-exploration and building awareness of what is holding you back from leading a more fulfilling life. Whether you have suffered a recent loss or trauma, are suffering with painful emotions or having trouble coping with a life transition, therapy is a place to be heard and supported as you navigate the difficult path toward healing. I utilize an integrative approach to therapy. My role is to create a safe, supportive environment and ask thoughtful questions to help you better understand yourself. I find that in this ever-shifting world these days that we are continually being asked to explore new ways of knowing ourselves: to inwardly know and learn to navigate our own lives from within that space. I work with modalities such as mindfulness based practices, Cognitive Behavioral Techniques, and EMDR to assist others in dealing with their traumas and lifelong struggles. Once we can see our situation clearly we are less likely to continue to contribute to our suffering. We can become aware of our conditioned responses and then and only then can we begin to choose a new path. I welcome you to your path of self-discovery and I am here to listen and be a gentle guide if you so choose. I have seen many of my clients become quite capable of being able to navigate anxiety and traumas from the past once they commit themselves to do the work that needs to be done.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My biggest stregnths in my role as a therapist is helping the client to feel safe and begin to have confidence in being able to navigate difficult emotions by helping to provide a new framework of understanding of what they are experiencing. Once my clients are able to understand themselves within this framework they have noted that they begin to feel a relief in their ability to manage their lives better.

By utilizing the strength of the therapeutic alliance we enter into an exploration of what most wants to be revealed at any given moment. Together we can begin to untangle the knots of beliefs that hold the client back.
