Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session is an opportunity to begin building a comfortable and trusting therapeutic relationship. My role is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where you feel heard, valued, and understood. During this session, we will start with a conversation about what brings you to therapy, your current concerns, and any goals you may have. You are encouraged to share at your own pace—there is no pressure to discuss anything before you feel ready. I will ask some questions to better understand your background, including relevant personal history, relationships, and any previous experiences with therapy. We will also review important information such as confidentiality, boundaries, and the overall structure of therapy, so you know what to expect moving forward. This is a collaborative process, and you are welcome to ask questions at any time. The first session is not about having everything figured out—it’s about starting where you are. Together, we will begin identifying your needs and discussing how we can work toward your goals in a way that feels supportive and meaningful to you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My approach to therapy is grounded in a client-centered framework, emphasizing respect, empathy, and collaboration. I believe each individual is the expert of their own life, and my role is to provide a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental space where clients feel heard, valued, and understood. Using a client-centered approach, I meet clients where they are and tailor treatment to their unique needs, goals, and experiences. I prioritize building a strong therapeutic relationship, as trust and connection are essential for meaningful growth and change. Through active listening, validation, and open dialogue, I support clients in exploring their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors at their own pace. While integrating evidence-based practices such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and solution-focused techniques, I remain flexible and responsive to each client’s preferences and readiness. I encourage self-awareness, personal responsibility, and empowerment, helping clients uncover their strengths and develop practical tools to navigate life’s challenges. Ultimately, my goal is to help clients gain clarity, build resilience, and create lasting, meaningful change in a way that aligns with their values and desired outcomes.
