New to Grow
I am a Licensed Clinical Mental Health Counselor in the State of North Carolina. I work with clients from ages 5 to 99+. I provide individual sessions and family sessions. I provide Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) for children ages 5 to 17. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy with a person-centered approach. I look forward to helping you help yourself. Travel alone, travel faster; travel together; travel farther.
Our first session will be different from the others. We will be asking a lot of questions to gather as much information as I can to help me get the clearest picture of you and your situation. The following sessions will be led heavily by you!
I believe you have the answers you need within you. Who knows you best? I believe change is possible, and every little desired change is a progression towards your goals that should be recognized and validated. It is in you: The change you desire.
A client who can come in at their best and during their most difficult times is ideal. I understand you are human and you may need to recharge. That is okay. Processing difficulties requires time, and what is done in that time is the facilitator for change. I look to help you cultivate that change within you. Attending a session is a step in that direction.
Other specialties
Trauma-Focused CBT
We slowly, intentionally, and incrementally process the trauma while learning how to cope with thoughts, feelings/emotions, and behaviors that are a result of the trauma.
Cognitive Behavior Therapy for Suicide Prevention (CBT-SP)
We look at thoughts, feelings/emotions, and behaviors to see how each affects the others in situations that affect you in your life in order to find practical ways to reframe and challenge them for desired thoughts, feelings, and behaviors.
Structural Family Therapy
We look at how the process of a relationship affects EVERYONE in the family, not just one person. A family is a combination of people and groups of people with dynamics that affect everyone within the family through boundaries, relationships, and processes that make the family function.
