Rochelle Bradley
Greetings, my name is Rochelle Bradley, and I am a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner committed to supporting your mental health and well-being.
My journey into psychiatry began during my years as an oncology nurse, where I witnessed firsthand how emotional resilience, mental wellbeing, and support played a crucial role in physical healing and overall quality of life.
With a completion of a doctoral-level education in nursing practice and extensive clinical experience in psychotherapy and medication management, I am able to provide a comprehensive approach to mental healthcare tailored to each individual's needs. My journey into psychiatry began during my years as an oncology nurse, where I witnessed firsthand how emotional resilience, mental wellbeing, and support played a crucial role in physical healing and overall quality of life. That experience deeply shaped my approach to mental health. Today, in my outpatient practice, I work with clients facing a range of challenges—including anxiety, depression, trauma, and life transitions—with a holistic mindset that honors the mind-body connection.
First session
The goal is to empower you to gain insight, develop coping skills, and make informed decisions about your care. The process is personalized, and you are encouraged to ask questions, set goals, and actively participate in the treatment plan. By creating a safe, supportive, and judgment-free environment where clients feel empowered to take charge of their mental health journey, we will address challenges, build resilience, and foster lasting well-being.
Strengths
My approach to treatment includes offering a supportive and collaborative environment where mental and emotional well-being is the primary focus. Sessions typically involve discussing thoughts, feelings, and behaviors in a safe, non-judgmental space. We are able to use a variety of therapeutic techniques, including talk therapy, cognitive-behavioral strategies, and, if appropriate, medication management, to help address concerns such as anxiety, depression, or other mental health issues.
Ideal clients
My ideal client is someone who may appear to have it all together on the outside but is privately struggling , or simply feeling overwhelmed by the demands of everyday life. They may be high-functioning, driven, and accustomed to taking care of everyone else, yet recognize that it’s time to prioritize their own mental and emotional well-being. I enjoy working with clients who are ready to better understand themselves, break unhealthy patterns, develop practical coping skills, and create meaningful change in their lives. You don’t have to have everything figured out before starting therapy. I meet clients where they are and provide a supportive, nonjudgmental space where they can feel heard, gain clarity, and work toward becoming the healthiest and most fulfilled version of themselves.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
In my outpatient practice as a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), I incorporate Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients better understand the connection between their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. Whether you're struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, or life transitions, CBT provides practical tools to identify negative thought patterns, manage emotional distress, and develop healthier coping strategies.
Motivational Interviewing
In practice I use Motivational Interviewing (MI) to help clients explore their own motivation for change in a nonjudgmental, supportive space. Whether you're feeling ambivalent about taking medication, making lifestyle changes, or beginning therapy, MI helps uncover your personal values and goals so that change feels more natural and meaningful to you. Rather than telling you what to do, I work collaboratively with you to strengthen your confidence and clarify your direction.
Compassion-Focused
In my practice as a PMHNP, I use Compassion Focused Treatment to address the shame and self-criticism that often accompany psychiatric conditions. By teaching clients about the brain’s threat and soothing systems, and guiding them in compassion-based practices such as compassionate imagery and reframing, I help them build emotional regulation skills that support both psychotherapy and medication management. I’ve found this integrative approach particularly effective with clients experiencing depression, trauma, or self-stigma, as it reduces barriers to care and enhances long-term recovery.
