Brandi Starks
With a profound dedication to women’s and perinatal mental health care, Brandi established Moxie Psych & Wellness to create a sanctuary for genuine healing. You’re the one who usually has everything under control, but lately, the "strong" version of you feels like a mask that’s getting too heavy to wear. Whether you’re a mother wondering why you feel detached from the life you worked so hard to build, or a parent exhausted by the cycle of ADHD-related challenges—you don’t have to carry this alone.

First session
I provide a warm, judgment-free space where you can stop surviving and start thriving. My approach is patient-centered, trauma-informed, and evidence-based, tailored to move you toward a life where you feel present, connected, and capable. I offer a "cozy" office experience in Houston, TX, and convenient virtual care across 7 states ( DE, FL, GA, IA, KS, MT, and TX). My goal is to make mental health easy, accessible and relatable.
Strengths
I specialize in: Perinatal & Maternal Mental Health: Navigating the "new reality" of motherhood. High-Achieving Professionals: Managing burnout, perfectionism, and "mental load." Neurodiversity-Affirming Care: Supporting parents and children navigating ADHD and behavioral hurdles.
Ideal clients
I’m best suited for individuals who are ready for real, lasting change—not just symptom management. I specialize in working with women navigating perinatal mental health challenges, including pregnancy, postpartum mood changes, anxiety, and identity transitions. I also work well with high-functioning individuals who may look “fine” on the outside but are struggling with depression, ADHD, trauma, or emotional overwhelm beneath the surface. My approach is collaborative, practical, and results-driven. Patients who benefit most from working with me are open to medication when appropriate, value understanding how their brain and body work, and want a provider who can connect the dots—not just prescribe. I focus on clarity, efficiency, and meaningful improvement, so you leave each visit with direction and progress. If you’re looking for care that blends clinical expertise with a deeper understanding of women’s mental health, hormones, and real-life demands—you’ll likely feel well-supported here.
Treatment methods
Motivational Interviewing
I believe that the power for change already resides within you. My practice is rooted in Motivational Interviewing, which means our sessions are a collaborative partnership. Instead of giving you a 'to-do' list, I help you explore your own motivations and values. Whether you are navigating a major life transition or struggling with habits that no longer serve you, I provide a compassionate, non-judgmental space to help you find your way forward.
