I am a Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor. I graduated from Youngstown State University with a Bachelor's in Psychology in 2018 and a Master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling in 2020. In addition to being a licensed clinician, I am a fervent mental health advocate. I believe you are the expert of your own life and I am here to guide and support you with my knowledge, experience, and training. As Lisa Olivera said, "Just because no one else can heal or do your inner work for you, doesn't mean you can, should, or need to do it alone." I work primarily with older teen, young adult, and adult clients struggling with anxiety, trauma, family conflict, relationship issues, life transitions, and depression. I use a person-centered, relational, trauma-informed, and collaborative approach.
In our first session, we will complete an intake which allows me to get an overview of your life experiences and what is bringing you to therapy. My focus in the first session to help you feel as comfortable as possible in a situation that I realize can feel daunting and even awkward the first time. We will likely discuss symptoms, life experiences that have impacted you, and various areas of your life that make you, you! We will also discuss what you are hoping to get out of therapy and start to discuss treatment planning to help guide our process of working together.
Having a mix of complex life experiences and working with a diverse range of clients since May 2020, I have been able to cultivate a therapeutic style that allows me to connect with my clients relatively quickly. My clients have reflected back to me that I bring a level of relatedness within the professional guidelines of this profession and help them better understand themselves (through exploring thoughts, emotions, physiological feelings, behaviors, and patterns) and their relationships.
Your bravery in reaching out does not go unnoticed. Our goal is to, together, create a safe, open, trusting, supportive, and confidential environment for you to feel seen and heard, and to address your needs, stressors, thoughts, and feelings. I work primarily with clients who may be struggling with anxiety, trauma, family conflict, relationship issues, and life transitions. During our sessions, we will delve deeply into your current and past experiences, relationships, thoughts, feelings, emotions, and behaviors; collaboratively create a plan for addressing struggles; and help you work to find a balance between acceptance and growth.
