I love working with people who are highly motivated to take control of their own destinies, and just need a little help in doing so. Whether that means you are working to get through a stressful time in your life, or you are looking at your 10-year plan, I can help. I hold a masters in Clinical Psychology and am licensed as a Marriage and Family Therapist as well as a Clinical Counselor, and I work with people who want to live life to the fullest and feel fulfilled and satisfied with their lives, but just need some help getting there.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

The first session of therapy can be really scary. You don't know me, I don't know you, and that can feel overwhelming! I believe in being very gentle with people, and I promise to make your first session a positive one. I believe in the value of humor, and be prepared that we might even laugh some in your first session! I'm very straightforward and am here to support you- that means I'll ask you what feels important to you to address right off the bat, and if you're not sure, then I'll ask you some questions to get to know you better. I will check in with you to ask how things are feeling, and ask you if what we are talking about feels like the right path to go down. If it's not, we can switch gears! You can also ask me questions too if you like and I'll answer open and honestly.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I'm very candid, straightforward, and bring a lot of humor and joy into the practice of therapy. I also am very empathetic, compassionate, and caring. Ultimately I am here to support you, and that can take many forms. I'm good at adjusting my style to match you and where you are at each session.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

If you are looking for continual self-improvement and want to be in the driver's seat in your life, then you are in the right place! I work with people who are interested in finding solutions to their problems, and want to practice new skills. If you are suffering from stress, anxiety, or dealing with a difficult life transition and just feel stuck, I believe that you already possess the resources to make it through, you just need a little help harnessing them. Let me help you do that!

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Be changing our thoughts, we can work toward changing the way that we feel! Sometimes we can "hack" our own thoughts to improve the way we view a situation, or the way that we feel about something. I work with people to help them learn the ways that their brain works and how they can actually change the way they think to overcome feelings of anxiety and depression, lead more fulfilling lives, and reach their goals!

Relational

I believe that in addition to changing our thought patterns, it can be helpful to look at our relational patterns and see how we can learn to interact with others and ourselves in a more positive and loving way.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment

Not every problem has a solution, and that's OK. However, if a problem has a solution, then let's find it! Solution focused treatment helps identify problems and focuses on actionable steps that you can take to overcome those challenges. This can be great when you have a specific hurdle you'd like to overcome.
