Hello, I am Rokhaya and I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) licensed in Washington, DC, Alabama, and Georgia. I provide telehealth services to clients, working with young adults specializing in anxiety and depression. I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and Feminist Therapy to help clients challenge unhelpful thought patterns, explore the impact of societal influences, and make meaningful progress toward their goals.
In the first session, clients can expect a warm, supportive space where we’ll discuss what brings them to therapy, explore their goals, and review important background information. I’ll explain my approach, answer questions, and begin building a collaborative relationship focused on understanding their needs and planning next steps together.
My greatest strengths as a provider include creating a safe, nonjudgmental space, building strong therapeutic relationships, and tailoring evidence-based approaches to each client’s unique needs. I bring empathy, cultural humility, and a strengths-based perspective to help clients feel heard, empowered, and supported throughout their healing journey.
I primarily work with adults, including individuals from the diaspora, who are navigating anxiety, depression, stress, life transitions, and identity-related challenges. I am especially passionate about supporting clients as they explore the intersections of culture, systemic barriers, and mental health. My approach is tailored to each person’s unique experiences, helping them build resilience, develop coping strategies, and foster self-empowerment. I am most comfortable treating anxiety disorders, depression, stress-related concerns, self-esteem issues, and the emotional impact of systemic oppression and intergenerational trauma.
I have extensive experience using CBT to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thoughts, develop healthier thinking patterns, and practice coping strategies. I integrate CBT techniques into treatment plans for anxiety and depression, tailoring interventions to meet each client's unique needs and therapeutic goals.
I use feminist therapy to help clients explore how social, cultural, and systemic factors impact their mental health. I center each client’s lived experience, promote empowerment, and challenge oppressive structures. My approach supports self-advocacy, identity exploration, and healing through collaboration, validation, and social justice-informed care.
I use a strengths-based approach to help clients recognize and build on their existing skills, resilience, and resources. By focusing on what’s working, we co-create strategies for growth and healing. This approach fosters empowerment, confidence, and a sense of agency in navigating life’s challenges.
