First session
I work with patients struggling with depression, inattention, anxiety, and trauma. During our intake session, after discussing presenting impetus for care, we will create a collaborate plan for treatment. Most of my patients see a progressive improvement in symptoms within the first month of treatment. With continued support and medication management, many patients find viable results.
Strengths
I combine evidence-based medicine with holistic approaches to create personalized treatment plans that may include therapy, medication, or both, depending on your unique needs.
Ideal clients
With over 25 years of clinical experience, I have cared for patients across the life-span presenting with various co-morbidities and conditions. I look forward to helping you make life changing improvements to your mental wellbeing. I am a Tampa psychiatric provider accepting new patients for depression, maternal mental health, anxiety, ADHD, and other mental health conditions. I complete appointment both virtually and in a welcoming office setting.
Treatment methods
Motivational Interviewing
As part of my psychotherapy approach, I incorporate Motivational Interviewing (MI) into routine psychiatric care to help patients identify their own reasons for change, overcome ambivalence, and build confidence in achieving meaningful, sustainable improvements in mental health. My approach emphasizes collaboration, empathy, patient autonomy, and individualized goal setting to promote lasting behavioral change and improved treatment outcomes.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
Life can be hard sometimes; then it can be good. I have learned, there really is hope and healing. Sometimes maybe you just need someone to talk to, sometimes you may need medication, and then there are times you need both. With a commitment to excellence and a belief in not only conventional medicine but also holistic approaches to well-being, acceptance, and healing you can expect to find understanding, professionalism, solutions, and enrichment.
Supportive
With a passion for overcoming the stigma surrounding mental illness, I aim to afford compassion, implement change, and ultimately reach optimal outcomes in the field of psychiatric mental health. I find inspiration in the film Life Itself: “Life brings you to your knees. It brings you lower than you think you can go, but if you stand back up and move forward, if you go just a little farther, you will always find love”.
Integrative
As a board-certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner, I combine evidence-based psychiatric care with an integrative, lifestyle-focused approach to help patients achieve meaningful, lasting improvement in their mental and physical well-being. Every treatment plan is individualized and designed to address the whole person—not just a diagnosis or a list of symptoms.
