I am a certified psychiatric nurse practitioner and clinical nurse specialist. I graduated from the University of Michigan Ann Arbor Rackham School of Graduate studies with a Nasters degree in Psychiatric Nursing I have over 40 years of experience in working with individuals suffering severe mental illness and substance use I am familiar with several modalities of treatment including individual, couples and family counseling I use a person centered therapeutic relationship to establish and engage my clients in the work of personal change called therapy I often ask that homework such as journaling and relaxation activities be used between therapy sessions to solidify gains achieved in our meetings

Our first session involves a sharing of your concerns and needs related to the distressing aspects of your life A plan of therapy will prioritize and address each issue and proscribe therapy from a therapeutic perspective

I am greatly interested in what makes you feel sad anxious and distressed and how this causes a breakdown in your ability to head a happy and fulfilled life. I am likewise interested in what works to make you feel and appreciate your best life I have always known that we make life what it is and that there is a way to make our lives better sweeter through guided introspection, the real healing occurs when we allow ourselves to look inside and find our real value and the value of others

I enjoy working with my clients who have life challenges such as employment, educational, relationship, and family issues I have 20+ years of experience prescribing for young adults adults and elderly I utilize therapy and medications review sessions to provide the greatest impact on the life altering disorders my clients experience I find additional therapy sessions provide for the greatest therapeutic gains My clients report that the feel respected and affirmed and a sense of hope direction and resolution after these sessions.
