Hello Everyone, My name is Kim McCoy. I am a PMHNP-BC in Illinois. I earned my Bachelor's degree in nursing from St. Xavier University and my Master's degree from U.I.C.'s psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner program. I have over twenty years of experience working as a registered nurse in psychiatry and with clients with dual diagnoses. I work with all age groups, beginning at the age of six. I work with clients with PTSD, ADHD, Schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder, MDD and GAD. I have worked with clients with a variety of mental health disorders. I assess, diagnose and treat mental health disorders. I provide therapy and prescribe medications to clients.
As a client of mine, you can expect the best care possible. Each client has an individual plan that caters to their needs. No two clients are the same. I pride myself on effectively listening to you and together, coming up with the best evidence-based practice for your individual needs.
I utilize evidence-based practice in medication management. Creative problem-solving is essential to a customized plan that works for each patient

I am new to the area and looking for providers that work with my insurance. Despite that being my main reason for establishing care, Kim and our interactions are what's making me stick around. Right off the bat, Kim was calm, pleasant, and professional, which allowed me to feel more comfortable to be myself. When I told her my needs/goals, she was receptive and it felt like we were a team. I am looking forward to working with/being cared for by Kim.
