Does it feel like you can never fully catch your breath? That life is going too fast and tasks that once were trivial for you now seem overwhelming or exhausting? Keeping up with this rapidly changing world takes an immense amount of emotional fortitude. My hope is to be able to help others navigate life's obstacles with an authentic and nonjudgmental approach. I specialized in Trauma while earning my degree and have helped many individuals, couples, and families work through and overcome the aftermath of traumatic events. I also have several years of experience helping people struggling with anxiety and depression. One of the most important aspects of the therapeutic healing process is the connection between the client and therapist, so I encourage authentic communication if you do not feel we are a good fit as it can be an example of advocating for yourself in a powerful way.
I come to every single session with a completely nonjudgemental approach, and that especially includes the first session. I do my best to create a welcoming and safe environment for my client and I to get to know each other a bit. I prioritize safety and trust, so I do not rush or push for information if someone does not want to share, and rather focus on making an authentic connection. I will also answer any and all questions my client may have about the therapeutic process as I value curiosity and understand it can be hard to try something new or open up to someone new.
Feedback I've received from clients is that I am patient and nonjudgemental and good at helping people feel seen, heard, and valued.
ACT is a type of therapy that has the aim of acknowledging and accepting our thoughts and feelings without judgement. We all face challenges that trigger certain reflexive reactions, and that's completely okay. What is important is that we allow those reactions to be there without judging ourselves for them so that we can learn from them and grow.
