Hi! I am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in the state of Florida. I started my journey in the mental health field in 2013. I furthered my education and experience by earning my graduate degree in Mental Health Counseling and Rehabilitation from University of South Florida in 2018. I work with clients struggling with anxiety, ADHD, and interpersonal conflicts. I work with clients who may be experiencing a sense of burnout or dissatisfaction with their current life or mindset and work to create the change needed to appreciate and love their life.
In our first session together, I like to gather background details such as your experience with therapy or what has caused you to seek out counseling. This helps me create a full picture of what you are experiencing and guide me to the tools that will be most beneficial moving forward.
I truly enjoy listening to people to understand their story. My biggest strength is building a relationship with my clients. While identifying the problem area and working to create a strong treatment plan is important, this step means nothing if there is no trust or rapport built. You will not be willing to take a chance on making change if you do not trust the person who is asking you to change.
I love working with any type of client that is eager to learn, change, and improve. This type of person may feel stuck, overwhelmed, or anxious. We can work together to identify the tools needed to make your goals a reality!
I have been using Narrative therapy since starting int he mental health field in 2013. I use this to help clients identify stories they tell themselves about their lives. This specific therapy is collaborative in nature and encourages clients to actively participate in reshaping their narratives, fostering a sense of agency and self-determination. This type of therapy is helpful for a range of issues, but I have experienced great success with clients encountering anxiety or relationship and communication conflicts.
I often use cognitive behavioral therapy along side narrative therapy. We will use CBT to help you understand the connection between thoughts, behaviors, and emotions and how they influence one another. We will use this information to identify and challenge negative thought patterns, set realistic behavioral goals, and implement strategies to address your specific issues.
I became a certified hypnotist in 2023 and have experienced great success using this intervention with clients who feel stuck or unsure how to initiate change. Hypnotherapy is a great way to unlock parts of your brain that you are unable to access at a conscious level. We will work in this space to create the change you are seeking.
I love incorporating Mindfulness-Based Therapy with all clients. We will use these techniques to help cement changes into your life through awareness and the practice of being present. With an open mind, these techniques can help bring awareness and a sense of calm. We will use this to help guide you to a place that allows you to make changes towards the mindset and life you desire.
