Hello, I'm Susan Simianer, an LPC in Colorado. With over 15 years of experience, I have had the privilege of working with individuals from diverse backgrounds, helping them navigate life's challenges and transitions. I have a deep passion for person-centered therapy, where you, as my client, guide your own process. I believe in the power of autonomy and strive to emphasize it in every aspect of your life. My approach is comprehensive, especially when working with trauma, depression, and anxiety disorders. I have spent years educating clients on healthy relationships and providing support around codependency. Throughout my career, I have worked as a school-based therapist, providing therapy to students, and in a medical setting, delivering behavioral health care to patients. Currently, I work alongside other counselors in a practice dedicated to supporting families experiencing poverty and mental health issues. My specialties include working with trauma, anxiety, bipolar disorder, adolescent and teen mental/behavioral health, depression, dissociative disorders, family relationships, life transitions, domestic violence, intimate/romantic relationships, somatic symptom disorder, spirituality, and stress. My modalities include, cognitive behavioral therapy, Accelerated Resolution Therapy, somatic work, and Neurofeedback. I live in a small town with my husband on the Western Slope of Colorado which is so beautiful. I get to spend my summers going to Crested Butte, Telluride, Ouray and all of the great mountain towns. My kids are grown. Having lived in both Denver and rural areas, I understand the unique challenges and benefits of different living environments. My sincere hope is to help you become more resilient and to sustain and/or create healthy relationships with those you care about. Together, we can identify your values, strengths, hopes, and dreams, and develop the skills you need to navigate this world with confidence.
