LCSW, 9 years of experience
Welcome! I’m Cassandra Castro, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker based in Tampa, with 9 years of experience in the mental health field. I’m a proud alumna of the University of South Florida, where I earned both my Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Social Work. I've had the privilege of working with individuals across the lifespan, from children and teens to families and adults. My approach is rooted in empathy, understanding, and collaboration, as I believe in meeting each client where they are on their unique journey.
In our first session, we'll start with introductions and delve into what brings you to therapy. We'll discuss your background and gather information to create a personalized treatment plan tailored to your unique needs and goals. This includes exploring the biological, psychological, and social aspects of your situation to ensure we address all relevant factors in your journey towards healing and growth.
What distinguishes me as a provider is my genuine compassion and unwavering commitment to my clients' well-being. I create a safe, nonjudgmental space where individuals feel heard and empowered. With a blend of empathy, creativity, and evidence-based techniques, I tailor therapy to meet each client's unique needs and goals.
My ideal clients are individuals who are ready to take the next step on their journey towards healing and personal growth. I specialize in working with those who are motivated and committed to making positive changes in their lives. Whether they're struggling with mental health challenges, navigating life transitions, or seeking to enhance their well-being, I am dedicated to providing compassionate support and empowering them to become their best selves.
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and behaviors. Through collaborative exploration, I assist individuals in developing coping strategies and skills to manage difficult emotions and situations. By fostering a supportive and empowering therapeutic environment, I guide clients toward lasting changes in their lives.
I prioritize Trauma-Informed Care. This means I understand how trauma can impact individuals and their lives. I create a safe and supportive environment where clients feel heard and respected. By acknowledging past experiences and their effects, we work together to build coping strategies and promote healing at a pace that feels right for them.
I help clients in therapy by using Solution-Focused Therapy. Instead of dwelling on problems, we focus on strengths and solutions. Together, we envision a better future and take small steps to get there. It's about empowering clients to find their own strengths and make positive changes in their lives.
