I am a Marriage and Family Therapist by training and education, but I work from an integrative approach, tailoring my style to best fit a client's needs. Even when working with individuals, I conceptualize clients from a systemic perspective, meaning that I like to understand people within their own rich context (family, community, and culture). I have experience in crisis work, substance use treatment, trauma/PTSD, anxiety, depression, and grief.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

I strive to work with people to create an environment that invites curiosity and vulnerability, both for the client and myself. Therapy is meant to be safe, but not always comfortable. I will make observations, challenge you when necessary, give feedback, and talk about what is helpful and what is not productive in our process. I welcome feedback from clients along the way to make sure that you feel understood and that I’m able to help you most effectively.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I am insightful, flexible, and supportive, while being able to deliver challenging feedback.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am infinitely curious about how our different experiences, systems, and relationships shape our lives. I have experienced my own healing in talk therapy and strongly believe in the effectiveness of the therapeutic relationship in finding new ways to relate to ourselves and others. If you have been considering making changes to improve your life, I would be honored to help you navigate the growth process.

My treatment methods

Integrative

I am a client-centered therapist at heart, meaning that I believe a client is the "expert" of their own story. The best and most effective therapeutic relationships are equitable and based in mutual trust, respect, honesty, humor, and warmth. I have experience working in residential substance use treatment, crisis intervention, and systemic family therapy. My work is greatly influenced and informed by Existential, Feminist, and Narrative therapy approaches.

I love talking to Hannah. She is so authentic and caring. I never feel like she is trying to just "fix" something. She is great at listening and reflecting, and this helps me sort through my mish-mash of thoughts and get clarity. When she does make suggestions, they are very heartfelt and helpful. She feels like a close friend who never judges me. I absolutely love our sessions, and I would recommend her to anyone who likes to do their own processing while guided by true kindness.
