Oyebisi Kilani, PMHNP-BC Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner I am a Board-Certified Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner who is passionate about supporting individuals and families on their journey to wellness. I provide care for children, teens, adults, and older adults. My approach is compassionate, down-to-earth, and collaborative—I believe in truly listening and working together to find the best path forward. My goal is to create a safe and supportive space where you or your loved one can feel understood, respected, and empowered to thrive.
Our First Session During our first session, we’ll spend time getting to know each other. I’ll ask questions about your history, current concerns, and goals so I can better understand your unique story. This is also your chance to share what feels most important to you, and to ask me any questions you may have. Together, we’ll talk about options for care and create a plan that feels comfortable and realistic for you. My goal is to make you feel safe, heard, and supported as we begin this journey toward your mental health and well-being.
My Greatest Strengths What stands out about my approach is the way I combine compassion with evidence-based care. I take the time to truly listen and build trust, so clients feel comfortable opening up about their experiences. I work collaboratively—valuing your input and goals—to create treatment plans that are both effective and realistic. My care is holistic, meaning I look at the whole person, not just the symptoms, and I tailor treatment to each individual’s needs across all ages. Many of my clients appreciate that I offer both professional expertise and genuine empathy, helping them feel understood, supported, and empowered on their path to healing.
I especially enjoy working with client across all ages who are seeking support with challenges such as anxiety, depression, mood disorders, trauma, ADHD, or life transitions who value a collaborative approach, where we can partner together to create realistic goals and build a personalized path toward healing and growth.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
What is CBT and How It Helps Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, or CBT, is a type of treatment that helps you notice the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and actions. Sometimes, the way we think about situations can make us feel worse or get in the way of making positive changes. In CBT, we work together to spot those unhelpful patterns and replace them with healthier, more balanced ways of thinking. The goal is to give you practical tools you can use in everyday life—like managing stress, handling negative thoughts, and coping better with challenges. CBT is very hands-on, and I’ll guide you step by step, but you’ll also practice skills outside of our sessions so you can start seeing real improvements in how you feel and respond.
Psychoeducation
What is Psychoeducation and How It Helps Psychoeducation is about helping you (and your family, if appropriate) understand more about your mental health. I provide clear information about conditions, treatment options, and coping strategies in a way that’s easy to understand. The goal is to give you knowledge and tools so you feel more in control, less stressed, and better able to manage challenges. By learning more about what’s happening and why, you can make informed choices and feel more confident on your path to wellness.
Psychoanalytic
What is Psychoanalytic Therapy and How It Helps Psychoanalytic therapy is a way of exploring how your past experiences, relationships, and unconscious thoughts may be affecting your feelings and behavior today. In our sessions, we work together to uncover patterns and understand why certain situations or emotions keep coming up. The goal is to gain insight into yourself, improve self-awareness, and develop healthier ways of coping with challenges. This approach can help you understand yourself more deeply, strengthen relationships, and make positive, lasting changes in your life.

First impressions are very important to me, and Dr. Kilani absolutely nailed it. She was warm, caring, and very soothing to my soul. She gave me the right advice and took the time to clearly explain the different types of medications, including their pros and cons, in a way that someone without a medical background could easily understand—without ever making me feel uncomfortable or uninformed.
