Hi! I’m Martha Munoz, The decision to seek therapy may not be easy for various reasons. Sometimes it’s anxiety, fear of not knowing what to expect, or just the thought of possibly confronting painful experiences that create barriers to seeking help. Acknowledge the courage it took for you to take this first step in seeking therapy. My priority to my clients’ is to listen with the upmost respect in a non-judgmental and safe environment, ensuring you are understood and accepted unconditionally. I strive to help clients focus on the challenges that they are looking to address in therapy and work together to improve your quality of life.
I believe that each person is the expert of their own life, with unique experiences, challenges, and transitions that can sometimes feel overwhelming, confusing or difficult to navigate. Drawing from a Person-Centered Therapy approach, I strive to offer genuine support, acceptance, and understanding. My goal is to create a safe and nonjudgemental space where you can freely share your thoughts and feelings and explore your journey at your own pace.
Sometimes our thoughts can be harmful to our emotional wellbeing, leaving us feeling sad and anxious. By gaining insight into the reasons behind our thinking patterns, it can empower us to challenge those thoughts and apply healthy strategies to improve our emotional health. Using a Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) approach, I help clients recognize unhealthy thinking habits and understand their influence on emotions and behaviors to improve their wellbeing.
By using an eclectic therapy approach, it offers flexibility to accommodate the needs of everyone. By combing therapeutic techniques, therapy sessions are personalized to meet the needs of each client. For example, I draw on CBT to help a client improve his or her thought process, I apply Person-Centered Therapy to offer genuine support, acceptance, and understanding, and I use Family Systems Therapy to foster effective communication with others as well as understanding of how generational patterns can have impact our lives in order to support personal growth and healing among other therapeutic techniques.
