New clients continue care with this provider
Hello and welcome. My name is Marla Jones. Are you struggling with people who are important to you in your life? Your spouse, your children, co-workers, and others? Do you lack a meaningful connection with yourself and others? Or desire for deeper, more satisfying relationships? I help individuals who are experiencing relationship issues, depression, anxiety, grief, family dysfunction and violence. I am a trauma-informed helper, with a specialization in relationship dynamics, specifically, the perpetration and victimization of Intimate Partner Violence and Domestic Abuse. It is my goal to provide people with the lasting tools to navigate the relationships we need to be successful in our own lives. I use a variety of methods that are person-centered, collaborative, and personalized to the presenting concern. These methods are deprived of Cognitive Behavioral and Realty Therapies. These methods include self-awareness and evaluation, mindfulness, perception reframing, and planning for and executing new helping behaviors. My clients are given the unique opportunity to become an active participant in their personal growth and well-being. I believe that when people began to take their power back through personal accountability, responsibility, and empowerment; healing and transformation will soon follow. I look forward to growing with you.
In our initial session, we will engage in a thorough exploration of the factors that have led you to seek counseling, as well as your goals for our time together. This discussion will encompass a range of elements, including your background, family history, and mental health considerations. Together, we will identify your desired outcomes and collaboratively develop a plan to help you achieve them.
One of my greatest strengths as a therapist is my ability to help individuals navigate their challenges in a way that empowers them to take control of their lives with confidence, accountability, and insight. I utilize a nonjudgmental approach and foster a safe, supportive environment where clients can explore difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences. While I offer encouragement, I also emphasize the importance of accountability in the therapeutic process. My ultimate goal is to empower clients to recognize and embrace their highest potential, facilitating their journey toward personal growth and self-actualization.
My ideal client is an individual eager to take charge of their life, fostering self-awareness to initiate positive transformations across various aspects, including personal, professional, and private spheres. This person is committed to moving away from a state of complacency and is determined to embrace their true and authentic self. They are prepared to delve into their self-limiting beliefs and actively work to rewrite their personal narrative. This client seeks to replace self-sabotaging behaviors with empowering actions that enhance their overall well-being. My ideal client understands that meaningful change is a gradual process that requires dedication to the journey of recovery, healing, and personal growth. They appreciate the importance of consistency and are willing to invest the necessary effort, even when faced with challenges or moments of doubt. Additionally, my ideal client recognizes that this transformative journey will demand radical self-acceptance and a commitment to nurturing an abundance of self-love as they progress toward their goals.
I use reality therapy to help clients focus on their current behavior and its impact on their relationships and overall well-being. By emphasizing personal responsibility and the importance of making choices aligned with their goals, I guide clients in developing practical strategies to address their challenges and improve their lives.
I use cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge negative thought patterns and beliefs that contribute to their emotional distress. By teaching clients practical skills to reframe these thoughts and develop healthier coping mechanisms, I facilitate behavioral changes that improve overall well-being. CBT is structured and goal-oriented, often involving homework assignments that reinforce learning and encourage self-reflection between sessions. Assignments are given at the end of most sessions.
