Hi! I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in the State of Florida. I earned my Master of Social Work at the Garland School of Social Work at Baylor University in Waco, Texas. I started my way through my schooling to primarily become a grief therapist as my goal. I have and continue to study different grief theories and resources for those who are grieving.
In our first session, we'll talk about you! I want to build trust with you so that you feel comfortable talking to me about your grief, no matter what stage you are in. I will want to know where to start giving you the best help that I can to help you process through this journey.
I believe my greatest strength as a provider is having empathy towards those in this stage of life, no matter what stage of adulthood they are in. I also do not try to "fix" what you are going through, but help you process your feelings in a healthy way that make your grieve journey your own.
I am able to work with the grieving, no matter the stage of their grief.
I have worked with many clients on how grief is different for everyone, in every situation, and every occurrence. Grief is not just the death of a loved one, but a loss that emotionally impacts you.
I've been using CBT in practice for years. This method has helped clients challenge their thoughts and feelings, and how those thoughts and feelings trigger their behaviors in the grieving process. We'll use this method to help change your thinking, feelings, and actions through the time of grief.
I've been using Motivational Interviewing for a few years. This method helps me and clients process their thoughts and come to a place of understanding those thoughts and what they mean.
