Hi! I am Dr. Terry-Ann Adjmul-Hislop, a graduate of the Chicago School. I am a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience working with the pediatric and adult population both domestically and internationally. I organize and conduct positive parenting seminars and psychosocial workshops. I have worked especially with individuals who have been diagnosed with ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorder, mood disorders, behavioral problems, trauma, adjustment disorders, depression, and anxiety. I can assist you in various areas such as better understanding your strengths and weaknesses, developing insight and coping skills, and navigating challenges that may be impeding your life and goals. I enjoy working with individuals of all ages and utilizes empirical-based approaches. It would be my pleasure to work with you!
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then discuss the specific challenges you're facing and discuss your goals. This will help me create a tailored plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
As an immigrant, professional, wife, and mother my strengths entail understanding maintaining a work-life balance, and navigating family and cultural dynamics. I would describe myself as warm and compassionate, but direct.
I love working with people from all walks of life. My clients are eager and motivated to improve and make changes to their lives, yet do not have the tools needed to achieve their goals. They often feel stressed, overwhelmed, and defeated.
I use various forms of therapy based on the client's need and circumstances.
