Hi my name is Priscilla and I am a Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner currently accepting clients for medication evaluation and treatment . I take a more therapeutic approach to treatment with a strong emphasis on trying to understand a person as a whole not just as symptoms but their environment, culture, and past. I have been working in the field of psychiatry for 14+ years and prescribing psychiatric medications since 2018. I graduated from Middlebury College with a degree in Neuroscience and attended Regis College for my graduate studies. I am a Christian Woman of Color and can incorporate faith based practices in client sessions if that is something they prefer and request. Yet I try to gear each session to what would most benefit the client's needs and treatment. I have worked extensively with those struggling with anxiety, depression, trauma, substance use, emotional dysregulation, and behavioral issues. I try to work with my clients in their medication treatment and believe in a holistic approach. I believe working on ourselves as a whole, with medications as a support is the only way long lasting healing and change. Currently, I work in Outpatient Community Health specializing in Child and Adult Psychiatry, Substance Use Disorders, Clients with Disabilities, and Multicultural treatment specifically working with Spanish-only speaking clientele with use of an interpreter. Outside of work I like rock climbing, yoga, biking, traveling, and learning about different cultures.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session we will go through an hour long evaluation. At this time, I ask various questions to get to know you and what you are looking to get out of our treatment together. I go through gathering a brief history of your past experiences with treatment, childhood, current well-being and then discuss treatment options and goals. This time is to understand your needs, history, determine if you agree with treatment recommendations and if this will be a good fit for both parties.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My niche is working on providing the optimal amount of care and healing with the least amount of medications as possible. I am a strong believer that you're going to get out as much as you put in and willing to work through. I act as a neutral party who can listen and understand without judgment, which aids in building a connection, deeper understanding, and helps me grow in my own understanding and development in medication prescribing for your mental health.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I work best with young professionals who are motivated for treatment and may just needed some added assistance in a transition period or in managing their anxiety and depression. I also love working with teens as they transitioning in school or may be navigating the complexities of social interactions or individuals with past history of trauma and how that affects their emotional regulation and social interactions currently. ADHD, Trauma, Children, Substance Use Disorders, Depression, and Anxiety are also some specialities.
