I work with individuals navigating anxiety, depression, past trauma, and co-occurring substance use, especially those who want to better understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. I’m particularly well-suited for clients who are motivated for change—even if they’re unsure where to begin—and are open to a collaborative, skills-based approach to therapy. In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, such as catastrophizing or all-or-nothing thinking, and replace them with more balanced, realistic perspectives. I incorporate techniques like cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and practical skill-building to support lasting change. I also utilize Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based approach that helps clients process traumatic experiences and reduce the emotional distress tied to those memories. This approach has been especially effective in helping clients experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and substance use challenges achieve meaningful, lasting relief.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In your first session with me, you can expect a supportive, collaborative, and nonjudgmental space where we begin getting to know each other. I’ll ask questions about what brings you to therapy, your current challenges, and any relevant personal, mental health, or substance use history. This helps me better understand your experiences and identify how thoughts, emotions, and behaviors may be connected. We’ll also begin to discuss your goals for therapy—whether that’s reducing symptoms of anxiety or depression, processing past trauma, or developing healthier coping strategies. I may introduce some initial tools or grounding skills, but we’ll move at a pace that feels comfortable for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

In my practice, I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients identify and challenge unhelpful thinking patterns, such as catastrophizing or all-or-nothing thinking, and replace them with more balanced, realistic perspectives. I incorporate techniques like cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and practical skill-building to support lasting change. This approach has been especially effective in helping clients experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and substance use challenges achieve meaningful, lasting relief.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I am best positioned to serve individuals who are navigating challenges related to emotional regulation, trauma, substance use, and life transitions. Many of the clients I work with feel overwhelmed, stuck in unhelpful patterns, or unsure of how to move forward, but are open to exploring change and developing healthier ways of coping. I work well with clients who may struggle with anxiety, depression, past trauma, or co-occurring substance use, particularly those who are seeking to better understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. I am especially effective with individuals who are motivated for change, even if they feel uncertain about where to start, and who are willing to engage in a collaborative, skills-based therapeutic process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In my work, I use CBT to help clients recognize negative or distorted thinking patterns, such as catastrophizing or all-or-nothing thinking, and guide them in reframing these thoughts into more balanced and realistic perspectives. I incorporate techniques such as cognitive restructuring, behavioral activation, and skill-building exercises to help clients develop healthier coping strategies.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

In my work, I incorporate DBT by helping clients build awareness of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors through mindfulness practices. I teach and reinforce core DBT skills, including distress tolerance techniques to manage crises without resorting to harmful behaviors, and emotion regulation strategies to better understand and navigate intense feelings. My approach is collaborative, validating, and focused on balancing acceptance with change.

EMDR

I have experience utilizing Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) in my practice to support clients in processing traumatic experiences and reducing the emotional distress associated with those memories. EMDR is an evidence-based, trauma-focused approach that helps clients reprocess disturbing memories so they are no longer as psychologically disruptive. EMDR has been particularly effective in my work with clients experiencing trauma, PTSD, anxiety, and co-occurring substance use disorders, helping them achieve meaningful and lasting symptom reduction.
