Hello! My name is Dr. Kameron Sheats and I am a licensed clinical psychologist in the state of Georgia. I help high achieving and ambitious people navigate life stressors and mental health concerns using the Cognitive-Behavioral Model of therapy. I create a space in which you can bring your full self to therapy for the purposes of reaching the goals you’ve set for yourself. I completed my Ph.D. at the University of Georgia, and completed my APA-accredited internship at Howard University Counseling Service, Howard University Hospital, and the Child Guidance Clinic in the Washington, D.C. Superior Court system. I am experienced in providing individual therapy, group therapy, and psychological and psychoeducational assessments. For more information, visit www.TheInnerJoyLab.com

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In our first session together, we will cover what brings you into therapy and what you hope to gain. You will have the opportunity to tell me more about your concerns. I will ask you questions to help identify potential sources of the problem so we can develop a plan to help you overcome barriers and achieve your goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

My identities include being a high-achieving African American woman, a parent, a spouse, a family member, an employee, and a business owner (among many other roles!). I identify with the Christian faith and I am committed to social justice, particularly as it pertains to racial equity. Acknowledging my own identities is a critical component of showing up for clients in a way that honors clients’ multiple and intersectional identities. You are welcome to bring your full self to the therapeutic relationship, including your racial/ethnic identity, gender identity, sexual orientation, and religious perspectives. I believe that in order to reach our optimal state of well-being, it is essential to know how we are wired and what our needs and communication styles are. I will help you identify and understand your temperament so you can create the best conditions for yourself within your relationships, career, and other life contexts.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

Clients who identify as high-achieving or ambitious; those who want to identify and overcome barriers to achieving their goals, pursue wholeness, and experience inner joy.
