New to Grow
I’m a Licensed Professional Counselor who believes healing begins the moment you feel truly seen. My work is warm, steady, and culturally attuned, shaped by the stories people carry and the resilience they often don’t recognize in themselves. I help clients slow down, breathe, and reconnect with the parts of themselves that have been silenced by stress, trauma, or expectation. In our work together, we explore your inner world with curiosity and compassion, using neuroscience‑informed tools to support clarity, regulation, and meaningful change.
In our first session, we’ll slow down and get to know what brings you here. You don’t need to prepare anything or tell your whole story at once. I’ll ask gentle, grounding questions to understand your concerns, your history, and what you’re hoping to change or strengthen. Together, we’ll begin mapping out your goals and exploring what safety, support, and growth look like for you. My role is to create a steady, culturally attuned space where you can speak freely and feel understood from the very beginning.
My greatest strengths lie in creating a warm, steady space where clients feel deeply seen, and in weaving emotional insight with the gentle clarity of neuroscience. I listen for the stories, identities, and histories that shape a person’s inner world, honoring each one with care. I help clients understand their patterns with compassion, strengthen their capacity for regulation, and move toward change that feels meaningful and lasting. Many share that in our work, they feel safe, understood, and supported in a way that allows them to breathe a little deeper and begin again.
My ideal client is someone navigating anxiety, trauma, identity challenges, or relationship stress who wants a therapist who is warm, culturally attuned, and neuroscience‑informed. I work best with clients who are ready for insight, emotional regulation skills, and steady, collaborative growth. Many of the clients I support are high‑functioning but overwhelmed, carrying long‑standing patterns that no longer serve them, or navigating cultural and family expectations that feel heavy. They’re looking for a therapist who can integrate emotional insight with practical, brain‑based tools and who honors the complexity of their lived experience. I’m a strong fit for clients who value reflection, honesty, and a supportive, collaborative approach to healing.
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I have extensive experience supporting clients from diverse cultural, linguistic, and faith backgrounds. I approach therapy with deep respect for how culture, identity, family roles, and lived experience shape a person’s mental health. In my work, clients don’t have to explain or defend their cultural context — it’s understood, honored, and integrated into treatment. I use evidence‑based approaches like CBT and ACT through a culturally grounded lens, helping clients explore identity, navigate cultural expectations, and build on their strengths in a safe, affirming space.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I have extensive experience using Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors interact. I integrate CBT with a neuroscience‑informed approach, helping clients learn how the brain responds to stress, anxiety, and trauma, and how new patterns can be formed through practice and regulation skills. In sessions, we identify unhelpful thinking patterns, build healthier coping strategies, and strengthen the brain’s capacity for emotional regulation. Clients often find this combination of CBT and neuropsychology empowering, practical, and effective for creating lasting change.
Acceptance and commitment (ACT)
I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) to help clients build psychological flexibility and reduce the struggle with difficult thoughts and emotions. My approach integrates ACT with neuroscience‑informed education, helping clients understand how the brain reacts to stress and why avoidance often increases suffering. In sessions, we focus on mindfulness, values‑based action, and skills that support emotional regulation and resilience. Clients learn to make room for their internal experiences while moving toward what matters most to them, creating meaningful and sustainable change.
Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy
I use Rational Emotive Behavior Therapy (REBT) to help clients identify rigid or self‑defeating beliefs and replace them with more flexible, compassionate, and realistic perspectives. My approach integrates REBT with neuroscience‑informed education, helping clients understand how deeply learned beliefs shape emotional and physiological responses. In sessions, we explore the “A‑B‑C” model, challenge unhelpful core beliefs, and build healthier thought patterns that support emotional regulation and resilience. Clients often find REBT helpful for reducing shame, self‑criticism, and anxiety while strengthening confidence and clarity.
