Hi! I am Laura Smith, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW). I am a compassionate and supportive therapist dedicated to helping adults and seniors navigate life's challenges with hope, healing and emotional wellness. I've worked in medical settings, including providing support to individuals living with end-stage renal disease and undergoing dialysis. My work spans multiple environments, where I focus on meeting the client where they are.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

Our first session will include introductions and a conversation about what therapy looks like and what you can expect. We'll explore your background and current challenges, and begin creating a plan for moving forward. In future sessions, we'll continue working together to clarify where you want to be and support you in getting there.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My greatest strengths are being compassionate, empowering and creating a space where you can feel supported.

My treatment methods

Christian Counseling

Christian counseling combines evidence-based therapeutic approaches with biblical principles, prayer, and faith based encouragement when appropriate and desired by the client.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) is a goal-oriented, evidence-based therapy approach that helps clients understand the connection between their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. CBT focuses on identifying negative or unhelpful thinking patterns and replacing them with healthier, more balanced perspectives.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing recognizes that change can feel difficult, and therapy provides a supportive space to explore challenges, values, strengths, and personal goals without judgement.

Psychoeducation

Providing practical information and education about mental health, emotional wellness, coping skills, and behavioral patterns.

Strength-Based

Strength-based approach is a positive, client-centered counseling method that focuses on identifying and building upon an individual's existing strengths, skills, values, and resilience.
