Lori Truesdell
Life can bring unexpected challenges, and sometimes it can be hard to know how to move forward. Whether you're dealing with anxiety, depression, grief, relationship concerns, low self-esteem, or a major life change, therapy can be a place to find support and regain your footing. I'm Lori Truesdell, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with more than 30 years of experience helping people work through life's up and downs. I enjoy working with young adults navigating their 20s and 30s, as well as older adults, including those with Medicare. I understand that each stage of life brings its own challenges, and I believe everyone deserves to feel heard, respected, and supported. My approach is warm, direct, and practical. I create a comfortable space where you can talk openly about what you're going through without fear of judgment. I also believe a little humor, when appropriate, can make difficult conversations feel easier. Together, we'll explore what's been weighing on you, recognize patterns that my be holding you back, and build on strengths you already have. My goal is to help you develop tools you can use in everyday life, feel more confident in your decisions, and make changes that feel meaningful to you.

I listen with patience and offer honest, direct feedback when it helps. Together, we build on your strengths, work toward your goals, and focus on small, meaningful changes you can feel in everyday life and apply to future challenges.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy to help you understand how your thoughts, feelings, and actions are connected. Sometimes, certain ways of thinking can leave us feeling worried, discouraged, or stuck. Together, we'll look at patterns that may be making life harder and explore new ways to respond to challenges. My goal is to help you build practical skills than you can use in everyday situations to manage stress, feel more confident, and improve your well-being.
Motivational Interviewing
Making changes in life isn't always easy, especially when you're feeling unsure or overwhelmed. I use Motivational Interviewing to help you explore what matters most to you and find your own reasons for making positive changes. Together, we'll talk about what may be getting in your way, recognize your strengths, and set realistic goals that fit your values and needs. My role is to support and encourage you as you take steps toward the changes you make.
