Josefa Molina
I offer a supportive and nonjudgmental space where you can show up just as you are. I bring my lived experience as a Chicana lesbian into my work, and I understand how important it is to feel truly seen and heard.
Together, we’ll tune into your inner wisdom—through your dreams, body awareness, connection to the natural world, and the discovery of your own innate wholeness.
I have worked in community mental health for 40+years in both rural and urban communities.
First session
In a first session we will explore what brought you to therapy today. What is going on in your life that you reached out for help. We will review the major factors affecting your concerns, as well as explore your history and current life. In the first session we will also start to develop goals for treatment and envision how we will work together towards those goals.
Strengths
Together, we’ll tune into your inner wisdom—through your dreams, body awareness, connection to the natural world, and the discovery of your own innate wholeness. My communication style is warm, intuitive, and collaborative, supporting you in uncovering the answers that already live within you.
Ideal clients
I see adults at all stages of their lives, from the young adult just exploring what life they want to live to the older adult reflecting on the course that life took them. I look for clients to bring in the issues that they want to work on and be open to new ways of looking at their concerns and new strategies in finding solutions.
Treatment methods
Culturally Sensitive Therapy
I use a variety if approaches, including strength-based, person centered and psychodynamic informed methods, depending upon the needs of the client. Overall, I do so within a culturally responsive lens that validates the individual experience of the client.
