New to Grow
Hi, I'm Dr. Singletary! I help you heal through a trauma-informed, solution-focused, collaborative process. I believe in working together in a way that considers your life experiences, aspirations, and goals. I am a huge advocate of adult creative expression, play, mindfulness, and centering joy in your healing process. Working with me means that you will have someone dedicated to helping you heal on your terms.
In our first session together, here's what you can expect
You can expect me to inquire about why you are seeking treatment. This will be a more in-depth version than your initial consultation. It is important for me to hear your story from you and ask clarifying questions. The goal is to identify how I can help you, review your history, and collaborate on a treatment plan. This also the time for you to ask any questions about me or my approach to the therapeutic process, so you can get a better idea of what it would be like to work with me.
The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions
I offer evidence-based therapeutic practices while also taking a holistic approach that invites you to bring your culture, spirituality, and creativity into the safe space we create together. I facilitate a space for you to be heard while offering gentle guidance towards a healthier and authentic version of you. I have a breadth of experience working with individuals living with disabilities, chronic illnesses, the queer community, those who experience racial trauma, and those who are sex positive and are seeking counseling services.

Solution Focused Brief Treatment
There is often a myth that solution-focused brief treatment means that you'll have a short number of sessions and you may not get to explore deeply rooted issues. That is not true and in my experience often the opposite occurs. What being solution-focused means is that I am going to approach your concerns with unconditional positive regard and a willingness to work with you through difficult tasks. This also means that I acknowledge that you are the expert in your life and capable of facilitating the changes you desire with the appropriate help. Lastly, utilizing solution-focused interventions allows for collaborative development of practical and actionable goals that consider your everyday life.
Trauma Informed Care
In addition to helping you to complete actionable goals I also integrate trauma-informed care to help facilitate feelings of safety, trustworthiness, and transparency. I do this by creating a non-judgemental and gentle space for you to share your vulnerabilities without the risk of harm. I will utilize techniques that facilitate emotional processing, strengthened autonomy, and stabilization when exploring traumatic experiences
Somatic
Sometime things that occur to us are difficult to say or we still feel their effects after talking about them. This where somatic based interventions can be helpful. Somatic interventions focus on helping you process emotions or trauma through deliberate body-centered movements.
