Hey Y'all! I am a licensed Marriage & Family Therapist (LMFT), Sex therapist, Perinatal Mental Health Specialist, and Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist in Pennsylvania. I have two master's degrees from Drexel and Widener University, and an almost-doctorate (ABD) from Widener in Human Sexuality Studies. I have over 15 years of experience centering the healing of people with marginalized identities (specifically Black & Brown queer folx). My areas of focus are family-of-origin challenges, relational health & wellness, couple & sex therapy, perinatal mental health and perinatal loss, and broad-spectrum grief & loss support.
In our first session we will do some brief introductions, followed by identification of the presenting problems and hopes for therapy. I will gather some historical information, begin the joining process, and close with identification of 2-3 goals for treatment (these can be adapted as needed).
I've been doing some form of therapeutic work for many years. I have a comprehensive knowledge of levels of care, as well as working with people at all different levels of intervention. In addition to experience, I also just genuinely care about people and their well-being. I have a deep purpose and desire to support you getting to where you're trying to be energetically, spiritually, relationally, sexually, and mentally. I am committed to keeping it real with you, being honest while still caring, and helping you align your behaviors with the morals, values, and beliefs you have about YOU.
I provide adult family therapy (all parties must be over the age of 18) using a multi-theoretical systemic approach (specifically Bowenian, Eco-Systemic Structural, and Contextual).
I am trained in Emotionally Focused Couples Therapy which has it's roots in attachment theory. I frequently incorporate the interventions of Dr. Sue Johnson and her 'Hold Me Tight' content.
I am a trained in the Gottman Institutes 7 Principles of Making Marriage Work and often incorporate these interventions when working with couples, partners, and married folx.
I am a Certified Advanced Grief Counseling Specialist (CAGCS) and provide both psycho-education and grief therapy for all forms of grief. In addition to death-related grief & loss, I also have a specific focus on non-death-related grief (e.g., relationship endings, moves, job changes, more personally-aligned ways of being), and perinatal loss.
I have a 2nd masters in sexuality education and sex therapy, as well as doctoral-level education and training in sex therapy. I work with clients individually and partnered to address all forms of sexual health & wellness including sexual self schema work, desire discrepancies, sexual function issues, sexual orientation, gender identity, healing from sexual trauma, perinatal mental health and sexuality, etc.
