Brock Trotter
My name is Brock Trotter and I'm a Licensed Clinical Social Worker. I've been fully licensed since 2019 but have been working in mental health and substance abuse treatment since 2004. Life is a challenge for everyone and therapy can provide support, education, and opportunities to heal emotional pain and relief from suffering. I help individuals and couples navigate life challenges and move toward the emotional strength and freedom they want.
First session
In our first session I will assess your current situation and make recommendations on what I can do to help. You can expect to have guidance and information on next steps for your treatment plan.
Strengths
My approach is genuine, down to earth, intuitive, and I mix empathic care and support with the right amount of challenging if needed. My goal is to help you grow and heal in the areas you feel you need to.
Ideal clients
I treat adults and couples dealing with emotional and relational challenges. Change is not easy so individuals seeking to grow, heal, and motivated to improve their situation are ideal. I can help address emotional problems, mental health issues, relational problems, addictions and navigating life's transitions. Individuals with a faith orientation are welcome and Christianity can be incorporated into treatment if requested.
Treatment methods
Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT)
EFT focuses on emotions as an information system that helps us understand what our needs are. By following the emotions we can identify core sources of pain and unmet needs. As we listen to our emotions we can unravel our struggles and transform old and present sources of suffering and pain. This enable us to be able to let go of the past and live in the present when we can show and express our emotions in healthy ways.
