I have been a Masters trained psychotherapist for more than 37 years. I am certified as a Substance Abuse Professional, a Masters Addiction Counselor, and maintain certification as an Anxiety therapist. I provide a patient centered and non- judgmental therapy approach to help my clients to identify and to meet their goals. Simply stated, my goal is to help my clients meet their goals.
In our first session together, we'll start with brief introductions, then we will discuss and gather information to formulate a complete social history. This will help us to gain some insights and understanding to possible dynamics and contributing factors to current issues and chief complaints, and provide a tailor-made treatment plan for us to work through in follow-up sessions.
Having worked as a psychotherapist for more than 37 years, I feel that I have developed the compassion, empathy, and experience to meet my clients where they are, and to work with them to develop individualized treatment plans to meet their identified needs and challenges.
I rely on Cognitive Behavioral techniques to identify, to reframe, and to eliminate cognitive distortions that may be adversely affecting emotional regulation, daily functioning, or behavior.
I encourage clients to identify and to implement healthy coping skills that focus on self-care relative to integrated connections of the mind, body, and spirit.
Motivational Interviewing techniques are used to help clients to identify problems of concerns and to set solution-oriented goals based on their motivation for change.
