Sometimes we encounter challenging life obstacles and can find ourselves feeling distressed, isolated, or stuck in unhealthy patterns. When these difficulties arise, we may bravely reach out for support and guidance from a counselor. I consider it a privilege to partner with my clients as they deepen self-awareness, achieve new insight, and work toward building the life they desire for themselves. I believe therapy should be about you and what's most important to you. I form a therapeutic alliance with my clients in which we work together on the issues that matter most to them.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, we'll spend time getting to know one another. I'll ask about what brought you to therapy, the challenges you're currently facing, and what you hope to gain from our work together. We'll also discuss your personal history, relationships, strengths, and any previous experiences with counseling that may help guide your care. This first appointment is also an opportunity for you to ask questions. Finding the right therapist is important, and I want you to feel confident that we're a good fit. I'll explain my approach to therapy, answer any questions you have, and collaborate with you to begin identifying goals that are meaningful to you. There is no expectation that you share everything during the first session. Therapy is a process, and we'll move at a pace that feels safe and appropriate for you.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My clients value individuality, authenticity, and collaboration. I believe in fostering an environment where people can express their true selves, embrace their unique qualities, and work together towards shared goals. I welcome individuals from all walks of life and want them to know they are safe in my presence. I am excited to connect with individuals ready to embark on a journey of self-exploration and growth.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

Life can feel overwhelming when you're carrying responsibilities that never seem to end. Whether you're navigating the demands of parenthood, adjusting to a major life transition, coping with depression or anxiety, healing from betrayal, or learning to live alongside a chronic health condition, you don't have to do it alone. Many of the people I work with are caregivers, parents, professionals, and helpers who have spent so much time caring for others that they've lost sight of their own needs. They often arrive feeling emotionally exhausted, disconnected from themselves, uncertain about the future, or wondering why they're struggling to manage what once felt possible. Together, we'll create a space where your experiences are understood without judgment. Therapy is more than talking through problems, it's an opportunity to process painful experiences, strengthen resilience, develop practical coping strategies, and reconnect with the life and relationships that matter most to you. My approach is warm, collaborative, and evidence-based, drawing from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and trauma-informed care. I believe healing happens when you feel genuinely seen, equipped with practical tools, and supported as you move toward a life that aligns with your values.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) is an evidence-based approach that helps clients develop psychological flexibility, the ability to navigate difficult thoughts, emotions, and experiences while continuing to move toward a meaningful life. Rather than struggling against uncomfortable feelings, ACT emphasizes acceptance, mindfulness, and values-based action. I incorporate ACT to help clients build resilience, reduce emotional suffering, and reconnect with what matters most. This approach is especially beneficial for individuals coping with anxiety, depression, trauma, life transitions, and the unique emotional challenges that can accompany chronic illness.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I integrate DBT-informed interventions into therapy to help clients strengthen emotional regulation, improve relationships, tolerate distress, and respond more effectively to life's challenges. Together, we develop practical skills in mindfulness, emotion regulation, distress tolerance, and interpersonal effectiveness, skills that clients can apply in everyday life. My approach is individualized, collaborative, and focused on helping clients create lasting, sustainable change.

Existential

I also draw from an existential perspective, recognizing that many people seek therapy while navigating questions about identity, purpose, loss, relationships, and life's inevitable uncertainties. Rather than viewing these experiences solely as problems to solve, I help clients explore what gives their lives meaning, clarify their values, and move toward a more authentic, fulfilling life. This perspective complements evidence-based therapies by supporting deeper self-understanding, personal growth, and symptom relief.

Omg Amanda is so sweet and a great listener! She was able to do my intake with very minimal questioning, just prompting me to speak on what she needed to know. And she was so warm and enduring I felt completely comfortable opening up. Will definitely be seeing her again.
