New to Grow
Hi! I am so happy that you have made the decision to take this time for yourself and your needs. I'm Caitlin, a Licensed Clinical Social Worker in both Colorado and Florida. I began my practice career as a crisis clinician in Emergency Services serving populations from children & adolescents to the geriatric community; since then, I have moved on to private practice working with clients in Virginia, Florida, Missouri, and am currently living and practicing in Colorado!
I approach every therapeutic relationship as just that... a relationship. It is important to me that there is a positive connection between myself and the client, so our first few sessions will be spent getting to know one another and determining if I can align with what you are looking for at the time. I strive to create a welcoming, accepting, and casual atmosphere tailored to meeting every person where they are and with whatever they may be bringing into session that day.
Rapport and relationship are the foundation to creating an environment where an individual can truly identify what they are working toward. My focus is on developing trust in self through the therapeutic space so that you are able to confidently make decisions.
My ideal client is someone who has the desire to take one step forward.
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
My practice is founded in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy through identifying and challenging unhelpful thought patterns through developing practical healthy skills to address unhelpful thoughts. In practice, this can look like: collaborative goal setting, skill building, and practical exercises to make the connection between thoughts, feelings and behavior apply to real life scenarios.
Internal Family Systems (IFS)
I practice through an IFS-informed lens in supporting clients to identify various roles within themselves that have developed as a form of coping (e.g. the Manager, Firefighter, Exiles, and Self); and, instead of attempting to suppress these parts, we work on ways to meet them with curiosity and compassion. This approach helps to identify your core truth in an effort to manage these different roles in order to achieve a common goal.
