Vennessia Jimenez

LPC (she/her)1 year of experience

My name is Vennessia Jimenez, and I own Saving Grace Therapy Services in Strasburg, CO. I have a Bachelor of Social Work from Colorado State University and a master’s in clinical Mental Health Counseling from the University of Phoenix. In addition, I hold a certification with NBCC as a National Board-Certified Counselor as well as a license with the State of Colorado as a professional counselor.

Saving Grace Therapy Services is a safe space that is free of judgement. A place where you can express your unique self and reach out for help when needed.

Strengths

I teach life skills not only for coping but navigating the many challenges we face in our professional, and personal lives. I am a safe place for you to be vulnerable and share your life stories and experiences without judgement.

Ideal clients

I like teenagers because of their candidness, and the ability to tell you what they think. I also enjoy people who are motivated and desire change, as well as using what is taught in therapy to change their outcomes and way of thinking. I prefer people who ask questions and want to learn how to implement strategies for success and growth.

Treatment methods

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

DBT is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that helps clients manage intense emotions, reduce impulsive behaviors, improve relationships, tolerate distress, and develop healthier coping strategies. DBT teaches clients how to understand their emotions, accept what they are experiencing, and make positive behavioral changes rather than reacting impulsively. DBT can be used with children, adolescents, and adults experiencing anxiety, depression, trauma-related symptoms, emotional dysregulation, self-harm behaviors, relationship difficulties, and difficulties with impulse control.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

CBT is an evidence-based therapeutic approach that helps clients understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors influence one another. CBT teaches clients to identify unhelpful thinking patterns, evaluate their thoughts, develop healthier coping strategies, and change behaviors that contribute to emotional distress.

Strength-Based

This is an evidence-informed therapeutic approach that focuses on identifying, developing, and building upon a client's existing strengths, abilities, resources, and positive qualities rather than focusing exclusively on problems, symptoms, or deficits. The approach recognizes that clients have personal strengths and resources that can help them overcome challenges, improve emotional well-being, and achieve treatment goals. The primary goal is to help clients recognize their capabilities, build confidence, increase resilience, and use their existing strengths to create meaningful change.

Person-centered (Rogerian)

This is a humanistic therapeutic approach developed by psychologist Carl Rogers. It emphasizes empathy, acceptance, authenticity, and the belief that clients have the capacity to develop self-awareness, overcome challenges, and make meaningful changes in their lives. The therapist provides a safe, supportive, and nonjudgmental environment where clients can explore their emotions, thoughts, experiences, and concerns at their own pace. The primary goal is to help clients feel understood, accepted, and empowered to develop greater self-awareness, self-acceptance, and personal growth.

Mindfulness-Based Therapy

This approach teaches clients to pay attention to the present moment with openness, curiosity, and without judgment. It helps clients become more aware of their thoughts, emotions, physical sensations, and surroundings without automatically reacting to what they experience. Mindfulness is used in various evidence-based therapeutic approaches, including Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), and Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT). The goal is to help clients develop greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, distress tolerance, and the ability to respond intentionally rather than react impulsively.
