I have been a practicing Therapist for over 15 years. I meet my clients where they are and assist them to get where they want to be, assisting them in overcoming the perspective that other have placed upon them, some of those perspectives have been accepted, owned and believed by clients. I assist my clients in becoming familiar with themselves, not the perception of those around them. I assist client in knowing themselves not the self other have designate upon them.
I have no expectations of my clients, I view the first session as an interview. I understand and do not take offense to not being the therapist that the client is looking for. There must be a connection. I believe the connect is made in the first session. With each proceeding session moving forward, I believe progress will be made. It may not be large steps; however, progress will be achieved.
In my opinion, my greatest strength is being realistic, being human, being able to related. Knowing I have experience directly or by proxy the same or similar barriers as my prospective clients, that I have had the privileged to assist.
I am positioned to serve the clients that are ready to dispel the preconceived person that other have bestowed upon them. I am a therapist, that assist my clients with recognizing who they are internally, not the person other perceive them as.
