LCSW, 8 years of experience
New to Grow
Hi! I'm Karen and I am an LCSW. I am an immigrant, mom, scholar, and ally. I have worked with a diverse group of individuals but have been practicing DBT since 2021 and it has been a tremendously rewarding experience. If you struggle with emotional dysregulation, conflict in your relationships, self-harm, and/or SI, I would love to help you learn skills that will get you to your life worth living.
Our first session will be where we get to know one another. I will ask a lot of questions so I can get to know who you are and the different things that have shaped your lived experience. Please know, I tell all of my people to listen to their gut- if in our first session you feel im not a good fit, let me know. I want to make sure your experience is what you need.
I have made DBT a part of my own life, so that means I lean into being non-judgemental and accepting of the people around me and where they are in each stage of life.
There are three different groups I feel especially passionate about working with: First, I love working with individuals who have struggled with symptoms of Borderline Personality Disorder. It is incredibly rewarding to help individuals learn how to utilize coping skills to live a meaningful life that aligns with their values. Second, Neurodivergent individuals. I am neurodivergent myself and recognize how therapy and DBT can help us navigate a world that is set up for Neurotypical individuals. Finally, immigrants. As an immigrant I know what it is like to navigate the immigration process and feel in this time it is important to have providers who can understand the experience
I have been practicing DBT since 2021. I have been intensively trained and received my certification in DBT Intensive Training in 2024.
