Hello, My name Max and I am an addiction therapist. My specialty is in working with alcohol and addictions with individuals, couples and families. Specifically, my specialty is working with gambling problems or addiction.
First session
We'll take it slow. The first session will be a chance to connect and tell me why they are coming to gambling therapy and are they motivated by pressure from others or doing this for themselves or both.
Strengths
I am a recovering alcoholic/addict who has been clean and sober for more than 16 years. My practice is almost entirely devoted to helping people with gambling issue or with gambling addictions.
Ideal clients
I work with those people who are either contemplating that they have a gambling problem, or those who have identified that they have a gambling problem and want to use therapy to support their spiritual program of sobriety. I work with alcoholics that have found a new compulsion in gambling addiction and will help them to understand how the treatment for both is the same.
Treatment methods
Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)
The client and I choose together homework to explore between sessions and then discuss the homework and explore it in session.
