My treatment methods

Trauma-Focused CBT

I have been utilizing TF-CBT for many years with children who have experience traumatic or adverse events. This is a structure treatment protocol that explores your trauma narrative and typically includes parents in treatment.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been utilizing CBT for many years with children, adolescents, and young adults that desire to explore their thoughts and how it related to their emotions and behaviors. With CBT, we will explore your cognitive distortion and thought patterns and learn how to recognize and manage your negative thinking.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have utilized DBT for years with children, adolescents, and young adults that desire to work through their challenges with a mindfulness approach. DBT is a more structure treatment option that works through mindfulness, emotion regulation, interpersonal effectiveness and distress tolerance.

Trauma Informed Care

With whatever treatment method utilized, I follow a trauma-informed approach. Trauma-informed care is when the therapist considers the possibility of trauma for each individual and how this could affect their lives. It does not mean that as the therapist, I am assuming you have experienced a traumatic experience, but rather consider that it is possible, and I will approach treatment with this mindset. I use the trauma-informed care to shift the focus from “What's wrong with you?” to “What happened to you?”.
