New clients continue care with this provider

Hello, I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) based in California. I received my bachelor's degree in psychology from University of California, Berkeley and my master's degree in social work from Cal State University, Long Beach. I help clients who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, PTSD, and trauma. Through evidenced-based practices I collaborate with clients in changing thinking patterns to improve their overall mood. Through therapy clients feel better and become better versions of themselves.

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

In our first session, we will begin by exploring the presenting concerns in detail. From this conversation, we will work together to establish clear therapeutic goals. The primary focus of our work will be to collaboratively enhance your emotional well-being while also supporting your journey toward greater stability and fulfillment.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

My ability to connect and listen to clients while helping them find ways to improve their overall situation. My approach is to be genuine, practical, and a good listener. I rely on my 26 year experience in social work to help my clients.

The clients I'm best positioned to serve

I enjoy working with clients from all walks of life. My social work experience of 26 years, has allowed to work with young adults, middle-age adults, and older-adults. My clients feel better when they have a deeper understanding of their thinking and beliefs. The incorporation of newly learned coping strategies facilitates this process.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I have been incorporating Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) into my practice for the past nine years. Together, we will use CBT techniques to explore how your thoughts influence your emotions and behaviors. By identifying and addressing unhelpful or distorted thinking patterns, you can gain new insight and reduce the frequency and intensity of negative emotional experiences.

Dialectical Behavior (DBT)

I have been utilizing Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for the past nine years. DBT has proven highly effective in helping clients manage emotional dysregulation, navigate intense emotions, strengthen interpersonal relationships, and build practical coping skills. We will also incorporate mindfulness to help you become more aware of your thoughts, feelings, and bodily sensations without judgment. By practicing mindfulness, you will learn to observe your experiences in the present moment, which increases emotional regulation, reduces impulsivity, and fosters a greater sense of control and clarity in your responses.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational Interviewing is a collaborative and respectful approach that helps you explore and strengthen your own motivation for making positive changes in your life. As your therapist, I may use MI to support you in identifying your personal reasons for change, especially if you're feeling uncertain, stuck, or ambivalent. Instead of telling you what to do, MI focuses on listening, asking thoughtful questions, and helping you clarify your goals—so that any changes you make are truly your own and feel meaningful to you.
