Hello, I’m Toni, and I am passionate about helping individuals recognize their strengths, overcome challenges, and create meaningful change in their lives. My practice provides a compassionate, supportive, and judgment-free environment where clients can feel heard and understood. I use evidence-based approaches, including ACT, CBT, and strength-based therapy, to help clients develop healthy coping skills, improve emotional well-being, and move confidently toward their personal goals.

Get to know me

In our first session together, here's what you can expect

During our first session, you can expect a warm, welcoming, and judgment-free environment where you can begin sharing your concerns at a pace that feels comfortable for you. I will ask questions to learn more about your experiences, strengths, current challenges, and what you hope to accomplish through therapy. Together, we will begin identifying your goals and developing a personalized plan to support your emotional well-being and personal growth. You do not have to have everything figured out before you arrive. We will work through the process together.

The biggest strengths that I bring into our sessions

I bring compassion, patience, active listening, and a genuine commitment to helping each client feel heard and understood. I create a supportive environment while offering honest feedback, practical strategies, and encouragement. I also bring a strength-based perspective that helps clients recognize their abilities, build confidence, and take meaningful steps toward positive change. My personal and professional experiences have taught me that life can bring both unexpected challenges and meaningful growth opportunities. Through my own successes, disappointments, transitions, and losses, I have learned the importance of resilience, faith, patience, and having a strong support system. My 29 years of experience working with children, adolescents, and families in education have also helped me understand that every person has a unique story. These experiences allow me to connect with clients with genuine empathy, practical wisdom, and hope while providing a safe space where they can feel understood rather than judged.

My treatment methods

Acceptance and commitment (ACT)

I use Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, also known as ACT, to help people develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts, emotions, and life experiences. Instead of encouraging clients to avoid or fight uncomfortable feelings, I help them recognize and accept those feelings without allowing them to control their choices. I support clients in identifying what matters most to them, such as healthy relationships, emotional well-being, personal growth, family connection, or independence. Together, we work on mindfulness, emotional awareness, healthy coping skills, and taking meaningful steps toward personal goals.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

I use Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help people understand how their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors are connected. I help clients identify unhelpful thinking patterns and recognize how those thoughts may affect their feelings, decisions, relationships, and daily functioning. Together, we explore situations that may contribute to anxiety, depression, anger, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, or other emotional concerns. I help clients challenge negative thoughts, consider healthier perspectives, and develop more effective ways to respond to stressful situations.

Strength-Based

I use strength-based therapy to help people recognize the abilities, personal qualities, resources, and successes they already possess. Although clients may come to therapy because they are facing challenges, I believe they are more than their problems or diagnoses. I help clients identify what is working well and use those strengths to support healing and personal growth. Together, we explore past accomplishments, supportive relationships, coping skills, personal values, and qualities that have helped the client overcome difficulties. I encourage clients to recognize their resilience and build confidence in their ability to make positive changes.
