I am a New York and Florida licensed psychotherapist in private practice at Palm and Sand Psychotherapy. I am truly passionate about strengthening the lives of others and helping clients reach their full potential. I have extensive experience in addressing PTSD, trauma, substance abuse, anxiety, family or relationship conflict, and depression. I approach clients with radical acceptance and intuitiveness while using evidence-based techniques that produce effective outcomes for my clients.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

My approach is person-centered, integrative, and collaborative. From our first session to our last, I will always work to lead with compassion and understanding. I'll provide a professional and safe space for you to confront all the challenges that are keeping you from the personal and professional growth you deserve.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

I believe you have the ability to create real and positive change in your own life. I believe that the collaborative work between the therapist and client is most helpful in gaining the necessary coping skills to deal with life's challenges. I teach my clients how to challenge their destructive thinking patterns and help them find the courage to shed the unhelpful thoughts that no longer serve them. These skills help my clients to cultivate resilience and lay the foundation for living a genuine and more peaceful existence.

My treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

Through the person-centered approach I offer empathy, unconditional positive regard, and genuine concern for my clients and their experiences. This helps clients achieve personal growth and gain a fuller appreciation of their own potential and self-worth. This approach builds a strong rapport between therapist and client, so clients feel comfortable with transparency and exploring their feelings.

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

My belief is that clients are capable of growth and change. CBT is an evidence-based approach for which there is ample scientific evidence that the methods do produce change in those who implement the learned strategies. CBT helps clients become aware of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Clients work on recognizing and changing negative or irrational thoughts and beliefs, which will help them view challenging situations more clearly and respond to them more effectively.

Motivational Interviewing

Motivational interviewing is used for clients struggling with substance and/or alcohol abuse. This approach helps guide clients to changing their current behavior by helping them identify their motivation for change. I help clients examine the discrepancies between their behavior and their values or goals for their future and come to understand how behavioral changes can resolve those discrepancies.
