Hi! My name is Becca and I am glad you are here! I have a strong passion for supporting and helping others, and look forward to the opportunity to work with you (or your child). As a therapist, I have many years of experience with a wide range of populations, ages, and backgrounds. My niche lies in working with children, teens, young adults, and women. I take a holistic approcah in practice, focusing on every aspect of the client (mental, emotional, physical, and spiritual) to promote overall wellness and healing. In my free time I enjoy hiking, working out, playing with my cat and dog, and being a new mom!

First session

As someone who has been a therapist for many years and who also has participated in therapy during different stages of my life, I understand that the first therapy session can be overwhelming and even produce some anxiety. During our first session, we can get to know one another, discuss the theraputic process, and begin processing goals and issues (if you would like). All therapy sessions I conduct are taken at the client's pace. Client's can share as much or as little as what feels comfortable and will choose the specific goals we work on! I hope that client's leave our first session, and every session, feeling supported, seen, and cared for.

Strengths

As a licensed mental health therapist, I bring the usual strengths of education and experience to my practice. What makes my sessions unique is my holistic approach. My style can be described as warm and supportive coupled with soft challenging techniques - a perfect balance to help clients overcome difficult situations and make changes that last.

Ideal clients

I have a passion for working with teens and young adults who are dealing with anxiety or chronic stress, facing adverse situations, who are faced with difficult decisions, or who are lacking self-confidence. I enjoy working with clients who desire to make improvments in themselves or improve their quality of life. No goal is too small or too big to be worked on in therapy and whether we meet a few times or for years to come, I am happy to have you here!

Treatment methods

Person-centered (Rogerian)

In my practice I primarily utilize person-centered therapy - a talk therapy in which the client leads the conversation while I, as the therapist, offer a safe, non-judgmental space to help you find solutions. I couple this with techniques of cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), a structured, short-term form of psychotherapy that teaches client's how their thoughts, feelings, and behaviors affect each other.
