Welcome! It takes immense courage to reach out for support, and I would be honored to walk alongside you. With 30 years of counseling experience, I have had the privilege of working with individuals across a wide range of ages, backgrounds, and cultures. My journey began by supporting child and adult victims of violence, utilizing Play Therapy and EMDR to facilitate deep healing from trauma. Later, I transitioned into working with the elderly and their families, navigating the complexities of physical transitions and end-of-life care. Today, my practice is guided by a core belief: I do not see you as a "broken puzzle" to be fixed, but as a whole, sacred being. While life’s challenges can often obscure our sense of self, I believe your innate completeness remains untouched. My role is to help you use Cognitive Behavioral (CBT) tools to uncover the authentic self that has been there all along.
In our first session, we will explore both your past and present challenges. However, we won't look at these as evidence of being "broken." Instead, we will look at how these challenges have interfered with your experience of your own wholeness and how they have forged your unique strengths. In our work together, we will focus on: - Regaining Control: In a world that often feels chaotic, we focus on what we can influence: our thoughts and our actions. - The Art of Co-existence: We will acknowledge the unfortunate fact that pain is part of the human condition. We don't wait for the pain to vanish to begin living; instead, we work on noticing the subtle threads of peace and joy that exist even now. - The Work of Uncovering: I view my role as both a witness and a guide, providing a supportive environment where you can safely do the work of revealing the true, authentic self that life's challenges have temporarily hidden.
Evidenced-based therapies, such as Cognitive Behavioral therapy, have the easiest and most effective tools which help us make positive changes in our lives. I see our emotional health the same as our physical health- the more we exercise/practice CBT tools, the stronger we get. Once we learn these tools and build them into our daily routine we have what we need to create the life we want.
While formal training provides the techniques, I believe my greatest strength is the wisdom gained from three decades of clinical practice. I have learned more from the people I’ve worked with than any textbook could ever offer. This experience has taught me that no matter how deep the depression, anxiety, or trauma, the "sacred core" of the individual is resilient and remains intact. Clients often share that they feel profoundly safe and heard in my presence. I am a lifelong learner, constantly integrating current research and science into my practice to ensure you have the most effective tools available. My approach is a blend of seasoned intuition and evidence-based strategy, helping you address: - Anxiety and Depression - Unresolved Trauma - Navigating Life Transitions and "Loss of Way"

Nancy has been amazing. She had given me a lot of tools to help me cope and recover from the trauma and abuse I have experienced.
