I am a board-certified psychiatric nurse practitioner in Kentucky. I have been practicing over 13 years. I am licensed children, adolescents, and adults of all ages. I feel most comfortable seeing pts. at least 6 years old. I primarily diagnosis mental disorders and treat with psychiatric medications when necessary. I have all types of pts. and enjoy getting to know the patient and their unique situation. Common mental health disorders I treat: ADHD, anxiety, bipolar disorder, depression, PTSD, psychosis, and substance abuse.
My primary role is diagnosis and medication management for psychiatric disorders but I also combine therapy techniques to help improve clinical outcomes.
First session
The initial evaluation would be a review of mental and physical health history and current mental health concerns. Psychosocial circumstances, family history, medications, and mental health symptoms would be reviewed in order to plan the course of treatment. DSM-5 diagnosis, recommendations, and a treatment plan would be given at the initial evaluation.
Strengths
I have a patient centered approach to treatment. I get to know the individual patient, current life situation, and psychosocial stressors that impact many mental health symptoms. My primary role is diagnosis and medication management for psychiatric disorders but I also combine therapeutic techniques to help improve clinical outcomes. When the patient can identify maladaptive behaviors or gain insight into their situation in combination mental health medications, treatment outcomes can improve significantly versus medication allow.
Ideal clients
I enjoy working with all types of patients. My goal is to improve quality of life through enhancing awareness, lifestyle interventions, and medication management. I have lots of experience with children and adults from different backgrounds. I have a very practical approach to treatment and will work with you to come up with a treatment plan for you unique situation.
