As a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW) with 8 years of experience, I offer a wide range of treatment options. I received my bachelor’s degree from Bowling Green State University (Ohio) in 2015, and my Master of Social Work from Spring Arbor University (Michigan) in 2019. I have experience in various social work settings and in treating a wide variety of problems such as trauma (including sexual assault and domestic violence), anxiety, depression, and ADHD. I also received specialized/supervised training in Functional Family Therapy- an evidence-based practice. I embrace diversity and I am an LGBTQA+ affirming clinician. I aim to create a safe, affirming space that suits your values and needs in a trauma-informed, and diversity-inclusive environment. I also welcome clients from all spiritual practices/beliefs.
Sometimes life can feel overwhelming like everything is out of control and you have no one and nowhere to turn to. This is precisely why I chose to become a social worker and therapist. I want people to know that they do not have to struggle through life or go through hard times alone. Even when we have experienced trauma, grief, or other challenges due to no fault of our own, we always have the choice and power to choose our path in life. I am here to help you or your teen with a variety of challenges such as trauma, grief, relationship and life stress, anxiety, depression, family conflict, behavioral, and academic concerns, and many other issues.
Services I provide include individual, family, and couples therapy utilizing a variety of theories such as trauma-informed care, empowerment approach, person-centered approach, solutions-focused interventions, Motivational Interviewing (MI), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Mindfulness, and many more. While in treatment with me, you will set the pace of treatment and we will work together to determine the goals and objectives which are most important to you. I look forward to meeting you and helping you change your life.
My biggest strengths are client-centered empowerment, validation, support and trauma-informed care. I am typically a good fit for clients who have underlying trauma (even if they don't realize it), are struggling with family, job, or relationship conflict, and are ready/motivated to engage in introspection. I am also spiritually flexible and I embrace the use of yoga, meditation, and interacting with nature as part of the healing process (as appropriate).
Client populations I am particularly focused on are adolescents (14 and up) and adults (18-60). I also treat couples and families (limited availability for online services). Clients with trauma, depression, anxiety, those in recovery and individuals with ADHD respond well to my style.
