(she/her)
Great to meet you! I create a safe and supportive environment for clients to explore challenging emotions, thoughts, and intrapersonal/interpersonal issues. I have expertise in addressing trauma, mood and personality disorders, self esteem issues, and relationship conflicts. I welcome space for clients to explore, get curious about themselves, and identify their own desired areas of growth. I also hold the mirror for clients to feel connected to a witness of their struggles and resilience. I lead with compassion and curiosity, instead of making assumptions, and I find that there is a depth of knowledge to learn from each client relationship.
I understand that each person moves at their own pace in therapy, and I remain mindful and present with the therapeutic process. I believe each client has the ability to help themself, and my role is to help each person discover how to do so. Goals are always based on the evolution of client progress, and each client's voice is essential to their course of treatment.
My favorite part of this profession is hearing your stories and perspectives. I enjoy being curious and learning about how you have become the person that you are in front of me. I appreciate every opportunity to witness how you grow through your journey. Much of the work we do will focus on how you want to process what you have endured and what is here and now, as well as how you can intentionally become the next version of yourself.
My approach to therapy is always client-centered and strengths-based. If applicable to each client’s wants and needs, I combine creative therapies, including art therapy, mindfulness, and yoga therapy. I maintain a systems approach, with an emphasis on exploring childhood/developmental wounds and traumas that have led to adaptive and maladaptive functioning. I have an eclectic approach that is rooted in mindfulness, attachment theory, and gestalt techniques, with the intention to stay present, attuned, and flexible throughout sessions. Some therapeutic language and modalities I am likely to use include: Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Nonviolent Communication, Internal Family Systems (IFS), Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction, and Codependency.
CBT offers many tools and language that are particularly useful for treating anxiety and depression
DBT offers many tools for emotional and interpersonal issues, personality disorders, and folks with chronic suicidality.
IFS includes "parts" language that can be relevant for many folks.
Mindfulness offers tools and language that are widely relatable across many backgrounds.
