Hi! I am a Licensed Professional Counselor practicing in Texas. I received a Master's degree in Counseling from Dallas Baptist University in 2012, and I have been practicing since 2013. I help kids (9+), teens and women struggling with anxiety, trauma and depression.

What can clients expect to take away from sessions with you?

In the first session, we will start with brief introductions, discuss my counseling practice's consent forms, policies and procedure, discuss your reasons for coming to therapy, complete clinical assessments, and finally discuss your therapy goals.

Explain to clients what areas you feel are your biggest strengths.

For me my greatest attributes are being a good listener, holding each client in unconditional positive regard, and being respectful of each clients' process. Listening without judgement.

Describe the client(s) you are best positioned to serve.

I love working with young adult women, who are eager to feel better and willing to put in the time to work on bettering themselves. These clients know that there is something that needs to change in their life but don't know where to start or what tools to use.

My treatment methods

Cognitive Behavioral (CBT)

In the beginning, the focus is to establish trust and the client-therapist alliance by providing a supportive environment. In the following sessions, I help clients develop healthy coping skills by teaching deep breathing, body scan, progressive muscle relaxation, and mindfulness, among others. We practice these in session and clients are encouraged to practice them at home. Furthermore, I also teach clients how to identify feelings, behavioral patterns, unhelpful thoughts, and how to replace the negative self-talk with positive and empowering self-talk.

Trauma-Focused CBT

I am able to meet clients where they are at in their healing journey. I provide with useful information related to client's mental health, teach relaxation skills, teach clients how to identify feelings, help the client learn to identify automatic unhelpful or inaccurate thoughts that the client may not immediately be aware of, help client with processing traumatic experiences by thinking and talking about them (at the client's pace), help client identify more helpful or more accurate ways to think about traumatic exposure, self, others, family, the world, and the future. With children and teens, conjoint sessions are held to provide opportunity for child to to share narrative with key trusted adult(s) and receive validation, praise, support. Also parent sessions are held to prepare the parent for conjoint sessions and to teach the parent coping skills that their child is learning to serve as reinforcement at home.

Christian Counseling

As a Christian counselor, I create a safe space where clients can openly discuss their struggles, fears, and doubts. I provide guidance and support, helping individuals develop coping mechanisms rooted in their Christian beliefs. I believe that God’s love and grace can bring about healing and restoration. In session, individuals explore their relationship with God, find comfort in biblical principles, and discover meaningful connections between their mental health and faith. In sessions, I use prayer, scripture reading, and guided meditation exercises using scriptures.
